(06.10.08) Recommends:

Frightened Rabbit, The Midnight Organ Fight (Fat Cat Records, 2008).

This one comes to us courtesy of a friend who seems to specialize in finding great international indie-rock. This band hails from Scotland. They sound like the Counting Crows, if the Counting Crows were more indie rock. And from Scotland. And for those brave enough to acknowledge that August and Everything After is among the Five Most Perfect Records Of Our Generation, you have already starting listening to this album, because there's no way you could reasonably get through such a description without already clicking through to the links and diving right in.

Those in LA take note: the band plays at the Roxy on June 22. They're playing with Oxford Collapse, an old blog favorite.
